A Night Of Frustration With The Officiating

So this morning, I woke up early at 9 AM because my mom wanted me to practice driving.

The weather didn't look promising at all, because it was raining. However, that still didn't stop me from practicing. I spend from 9:30 am to 10:30 am practicing on the road, and to be honest, it sucked!

After I came home from driving lesson, my mom went out and I was home alone for the day! I didn't care at all because I love being home alone. I was suppose to have friends coming over to watch the Vancouver Canucks playoff hockey game, however people were busy today, therefore I had to watch the game alone, which was fine with me, as I have done this numerous times already.

However, something tells me that Vancouver will lose tonight because every series that finished two playoff games are tied 1 - 1, in the best of seven. I really wish that it wasn't true, however it was! I just couldn't understand why it has to be like this, but here was what happened during the game.

The game started off well for Vancouver, they scored twice in the first period by Steve Bernier and Mikael Samuelsson, and led 2-0. If you thought I was very happy, you thought wrong. I was still having doubts about them losing, and the second period started everything off. The Los Angelos Kings would eventually score two goals within 35 seconds apart, by Freddy Modin and Wayne Simmonds to tie the game 2-2.

The officiating was terrible in this game because the refs seem to be blindfolded whenever the Los Angelos Kings commits an act that should of been called for a penalty. Many Canucks fans and I were getting sick of this. The referees doesn't seem to enjoy calling highsticking penalties, even if it was an obvious penalty.

In the 3rd period, there were no scoring, therefore the game went to overtime for the second straight time.

In overtime, there were no call against Los Angeles for goalie interference and highsticking. At that moment I was utterly irate considering how the officiating went all night long. Minutes later, Vancouver got called for "Too Many Mens On The Ice." In which I thought was completely bullshit. "You don't call a too many men on the ice penalty in OT when players limp in exhaustion to the bench" By Alvin Ma, a friend of mines. Anyways, I was thinking could this be the moment where all the series will be tied 1 - 1. After clearing the puck down the ice for over a minute, the Los Angelos Kings stormed back and Anze Kopitar finally puts the puck past Roberto Luongo on the follow-through to win it for the Kings 3-2 and ties the series up 1 - 1.

I was somewhat pissed off about the loss, but I was even more pissed off with the referees. After the game, many of the Canucks fans all booed and chanted, "REFS YOU SUCK!!" Something I would do if I was at the game. Never or less, this is all I have to say for today.

Go Canucks Go!! Bring On L.A in game 3!! BEAT L.A!!! BEAT L.A!!!!
