After a rainy morning, the weather here in Vancouver became better as time progressed. I woke up at 10:30 am today, because I slept late last night.
I had to check whether or not people canceled their appointment for their road test. As usual, no luck with that happening.
My mom decided to take me and my sister out for lunch, along with one of her friend. Therefore, I scrambled to get dressed. I wore a t-shirt, along with a sweater and my Vancouver Canucks Jersey on top of that.
Do I feel hot wearing three clothing? Not at all. However I felt that I became fatter, having my Jersey over my sweater and my t-shirt. Anyways, to show my Canucks pride, I felt proud wearing my jersey as I went out with my mom and sister.
We went to a Chinese restaurant for Dim Sum. Surprisingly, my little sister ordered a heck load of food. She claimed that she would be able to finish all of her orders. As expected, she couldn't finish all of it. Ironically she finished 4/5 dishes she had. After lunch, we went home.
I did nothing at home, except going on Youtube, chatting on MSN and listening to music. Game 6 between the Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles King, in which Vancouver can eliminate the Kings with a victory tonight. Three of my friends couldn't come, so therefore only one of my friend made it to my place. I had cousins over for dinner today also.
The game started at 6 instead of 7. Los Angeles had a dominant performance in the first period, scoring a goal by Alexander Frolov on the wrap-around. The first period ended with the Kings outshooting Vancouver 16-5 and a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, I couldn't believe what I saw. Roberto Luongo made a fucking unbelievable save, when he robbed Ryan Smyth with the glove after he was down. Game saving stop baby! Perhaps the save of the series, and maybe even the save of the year! The only thing I said after that was, "Holy fuck, you got to be kidding me."
Minutes later, Los Angeles as penalized and Vancouver went on the powerplay. Steve Bernier would tip in a shot from Alexander Eder pass a shaky Jonathan Quick and the game is tied 1-1. Vancouver started pressuring in the Kings' zone and Daniel Sedin took a penalty at the end of the shift, putting L.A to the powerplay. Vancouver managed to kill off the penalty, but they couldn't get the puck out of the zone, and Drew Doughty scored on a slapshot, short side pass Roberto Luongo and leads 2-1 for L.A. The second period ended with L.A up 2-1 and outshooting Vancouver 26-11.
During the intermission, I was pretty much all nervous about the 3rd period. From what I've seen. Vancouver usually dominate in the third period. I was hoping they would live up to their reputation. Thank goodness, I got what I desired.
The third period was showtime for Canucks. Kevin Bieksa scored after receiving a pass from Henrik Sedin and the game is tied 2-2. I cheered along with my other friend and we high fived again. With just 2 minutes to go, DANIEL SEDIN SCORED!!!! Wow, biggest goal of the series now!! Vancouver leads 3-2. I decided not to celebrate so early, because the Kings still can tie the game.
Just with a bit over a minute left in the game, Alex Burrows sealed the deal with an empty net goal to put Vancouver up 4-2. I started celebrating a bit crazier this time. However my friend reminded me that I should save it until the clock reaches 0, because the night Vancouver clinched the NorthWest Division Title, Minnesota tied scored two goals under a minute to tie the game. This didn't happen, as the clock reached 0, I started celebrating like mad. VANCOUVER HAD ADVANCED TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS!!!! I even gave my friend a hug as we watched the line handshake and the post game show.
After that, my mom gave my friend a ride home, and we head back after.
I guess wearing my jersey over my sweater and my t-shirt today was worth it. Even though I started sweating a bit.
Now Vancouver awaits for their next opponent in the playoff. It will either be against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Phoenix Coyotes or the Detroit Redwings. Personally, I hope Nashville will beat Chicago, and Phoenix will beat Detroit, so Vancouver can play Phoenix. Anyways, well done boys! Good luck in the second round!
As for tomorrow, I will be a Predator bandwagon, just for the rest of that series! Go Preds and Go Yotes.....
