Another firework event took place at Vancouver yesterday. I was pretty excited about it, as I rolled off my bed at 9:30am in the morning. Apparently, my dad had no work yesterday. Therefore, as a family, we went to Dim Sum at a Chinese restaurant. That being said, we didn't head out until 12:30pm, since that was when my mom stepped foot at home. I'd spend the entire time watching Hong Kong drama.
As usual, whenever we went out to eat, my parents made me drove the car even though I declined. Yes, I'll repeat it again. I hate driving!!! Though, I was lucky enough to reach there.
Dim Sum was alright, though at first I thought I could eat a lot. However, after feeding myself the entire Sharks Fin Soup, it seemed like I didn't want to eat anything, anymore. But that being said, I still ate a few extra stuff to satisfy my tummy.
After Dim Sum, we went to Zellers to look at new shoes. The first problem was that the shoes were too big, but later, I found a shoe I like and my dad claimed that the other shoe looked better. We decided to purchase both but realized that the pair of shoes my dad thought was better, had no discount. In conclusion, we only bought the pair I chose, Owned!!!
We drove home right after. Again, my parents made me drive!! By the time we got home, it was around 3:30pm. I'd spend an hour on my computer while packing my stuff for the fireworks, before heading out to take the 430 bus to Vancouver.
I arrived very early, so I went to the gas station and purchased a bottle of sprite plus a couple bag of chips. I also didn't expect to see a friend who happened to be working there. I then head to 7-11 to get a Slurpee before busing to a friend's house.
I arrived around 5:30pm and apparently, he just woke up from a good afternoon nap. We waited for another friend, who arrived around 6:40pm.
We slowly walked to 41st avenue to take the 20 bus to Broadway. A friend of ours was hungry. He went inside McDonalds to purchase two extremely small burgers. At first, we thought we would miss the 99 express bus, because my friend didn't get his burger when the bus came. However, we still managed to get on board.
We all got off at Arbutus street and we ended up walking to Kitsilano Beach, to meet up with a friend and her boyfriend. It was my first time meeting him. My two other friends met him once already. He seems like a pretty nice guy, in my opinion. Right after a friend finished his burger, we skipped rocks. Yes, I really enjoyed skipping rocks. I was surprised that Kitsilano Beach had many flat rocks. We also threw a football around. A must-see incident was when a friend of mines got sacked twice. One was when I threw the ball to him, he missed the catch and received the blow. The other time, my other friend threw the ball to him. He caught it beautifully with one hand, but couldn't recover and therefore, resulting in his second incident.
By 10pm, the fireworks started. To my memory, one of my friend said, "I won't expect much from Mexico anyways." I told him that Mexico might put on a good show. The Mexicans had a strong start in the beginning. However, their performance were only average at best for most part, even though they had some really gorgeous ones. It reminds me of the Sine Graph. Good start, then starts dropping and then gets back up again. I'd spend the entire fireworks session recording footage of it. Luckily I was able to record the whole thing! The Mexicans finished off their fireworks show with many blast.
After, we headed home. Now in my previous blog, I wrote that it was the Italian's show on Wednesday. Apparently, it wasn't. I apologize for the mistake. Now hopefully I get to see some extreme fireworks from China on Saturday!
