2010-2011 Year Recap

Today finally marked the end of the 2010-2011 season. I would first like to say, wow what a season! So many dramatic event that occurred for this past 12 months. A new chapter unfolds beginning tomorrow! It was really a tough and tedious journey for me, finally it comes to an end, however with many things that needs to be completed in the following season.

I would like to start off with school. I finally return back to school after taking the 2009-2010 season off, due to adult school and distraction in attempt to get into BCIT. Anyways, after taking two classes in the fall semester in 2010, my GPA was a solid 3.00. Well I knew this wouldn't hold up, as I know that it will only drop, but the best I can do is make it drop very lowly. During the spring semester, I took three classes this time. This saw my GPA for this semester finished with a decent 2.55, which dropped my overall GPA to 2.73. Just as you know, I also took classes during the summer semester as well. This went rather ugly, surrendered a major defeat in my geography class. This resulted in a 1.33 GPA for my 2 classes combined. Now my GPA went into 2.28 and now I'm on academic probation. Not good at all!

Right now its time to talk about sports. Lets start with the Phoenix Suns. Normally I would talk hockey first, but I want to change it up a bit this year. Now, after bowing down in defeat last year in the hands of the 2010 NBA Champions Los Angelos Lakers, the Phoenix Suns didn't have quite the season they had last year. With the loss of Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson the Suns struggled. Though they did get Vince Carter and Hedo Turkoglu, however Hedo got traded before the season was over. The Sun missed the playoffs with a 40-42 record. Oh well, better luck after the lockout! LETS GO SUNS!!!

And yes, the New England Patriots now. The Pats finished the season with a 14-2 record, best in the NFL. Most of their wins were blowout wins, while they had some very close wins. The defense seems to have gotten better, because I've noticed that the Patriots had more interceptions than before. And most of their interceptions were inside the red zone which was great! However, their season was shattered in pieces after losing to the hated New York Jets, for a spot in the AFC finals. Though the Steelers took care of the Jets which made my day, but they lost to the Packers in the Superbowl. I wanted the Steelers to win, not because I hate the Packers, but because I respect the Steelers as a team, just like the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. Better luck this upcoming season Pats! LETS GO PATS!!!!

Before we get to the Vancouver Canucks, time to recap on the world juniors. Canada coming into this tournament in Buffalo were seen as the underdogs, while the Americans and Russians were the favorites. Jordan Eberle and Taylor Halls were not on the team so which didn't improve the team. Canada for most part played well in the tournament. Beating Switzerland and dominating the Americans in the fight for the right to play for a gold medal. Meanwhile, in the gold medal game. It was surely a heartbreaking game. Canada vs the hated Russia. Biggest rivalry ever! While Canada had a 3-0 lead in the first two periods. This lead vanquished as soon as the game was over, with the hated Russians scoring 5 unanswered goals to win the gold medal by a score of 5-3. Yeah you know, when we lost I said, "Enjoy this gold medal while you still can Russia, you ain't winning another one soon" and I'll say it again! Enjoy this gold medal while you still can Russia, you ain't winning another one soon!

Now one more thing to talk about, before the Vancouver Canucks. How can I forget this year's Yahoo Fantasy Hockey. For the first time, I've joined two different pools with similar format. 8 people in a league, with 2 divisions and similar amount of players to draft per team. Lets talk about the NHL League first. Following the season as the league champion, I messed up on the draft big time, this resulting in an extremely slow start for me, I lost the first 6 weeks matchup. Being fed up, I decided to rip myself off by getting rid of Marc Andre Fleury for Steve Mason because the guy was struggling and was ruining my team. Though the guy turned the season around and I was criticized of a bad trade, but I didn't care. I also traded the Maurice Richard Trophy winner, Corey Perry for Ryane Clowe and Phil Kessel, as well as James Neal for Mike Ribeiro. My team turned around when I picked up the Vezina Trophy winner, Tim Thomas and elite goaltender Antti Niemi. I turned took advantage of my weak division and topped over it, giving me a bye in the first round. In the season round, I played an opponent I had trouble beating all year long, the score was down to the wire, but I prevailed by a score of 7-6 with an extra powerplay point which gave me the lead and the win. In the finals, I had no trouble beating my opponent 8-3 and was crowned as the league champion for the second year in a row. Now for the upcoming season, I will try to be first person to accomplish something that haven't been accomplished before, and that is to 3-peat as champion. It will not be easy but if you believe, anything can happen! Oh and congratulation to my two other friends for finishing second and third, good year.

Now in my second league, known as "Canucks4thecup" league, I had similar players as my first league. I finished the season ranking 4th, took on two elite teams before heading into the finals playing my rival friend whose team is primarily built on rip off trades. Talk about cheating heh! So I'm guessing he's not confident enough to win by trusting his own players. Oh well, no shame in losing 13-2 to him. If the following season, he doesn't win, then I can surely say that he sucks balls! While his team fills up with superstars and crap depths. Kind of reminds me of the Miami Heats. My team on the other hand, had deep depths, but my star players didn't perform like star players so that was no match against the power of his superstars. Anyways, even though he won, I won't give him credit for that. So, congratulation to my fellow third place winner friend. Better luck next season!

Last but not least, all you've been waiting for. The Vancouver Canucks! Sorry, I have lots to say about this. First I have to say, Thank You Canucks for such a fantastic year! Even though you didn't win the cup, you still made it to game 7 of the finals! The Vancouver Canucks this year was the league's best team, finishing first overall with a 54-19-9, 117 points. First president trophy won in the team's franchise. This was also their 40th anniversary, quite special huh? Henrik Sedin was named Captain of the team, which I think was well deserved. Heading into the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Vancouver Canucks took on the 8th seed, Chicago Blackhawks, AKA known as the "Blackcocksuckers" according to me. Though the Blackhawks don't deserve to be in the playoffs, because of their bullshit victory over the St.Louis Blues. But anyways, Vancouver won the first 3 games, but the Hawks stormed back with 3 games, forcing a decisive game 7, in which the day was the best day ever for me and my fellow Canucks fans. In game 7, Vancouver dominated the Hawks, but the Hawks found ways to survive and managed to keep the score to 1-0, before captain Johnathan Toews tied the game on a shorthanded goal. In overtime, when Burrows took the penalty, I thought the world would end, since Chicago had a chance to win, but Vancouver's penalty killing prevented that from happening. With only 12 minutes left to go, Campoli tried to dump the puck out but Burrows caught it and scored the series winning goal. I cheered so darn loud, the house probably shook.

Speaking of this series, I would like to point something out. Apparently, Blackhawks fans, the typical bandwagon morons thinks they should have won the series. I had to laugh at that, just because Vancouver blew a 3-0 series and Hawks fans think their team is all superior. All I have to say is, game 4 and 5, Vancouver pretty much gave away the wins. Out of the 3 wins Chicago had, they only won one game, in which they had to work for, but really? Did they really worked for their win in game 6, when they had the officiating favoring them heavily? Haha I don't think so, but the score was sure tight, instead of a blowout. Mike Gillis after game 6, sure made a smart move by sacrificing some money for a win in game 7, in which the refs allowed the teams to play instead of favoring the Blackhawks.

Anyways, back to topic, Vancouver would then go all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, but in a heartbreaking game 7 loss to the cheap fat Boston Bruins. By then, most of Vancouver's players were injured and had to play through them. Of the finals, it seems like Aaron Rome's hit on Nathan Horton angered the Boston Bruins, like one friend pointed out, but Vancouver only scored 8 goals which is not acceptable at all!

One more thing, after game 5, it appeared that Luongo criticized Tim Thomas on his style of play, which led to the 1-0 goal by Maxim Lappiere. I never knew criticizing is equal to telling truth. Luongo basically told the truth and people started flipping out already?? What would happen if Luongo said Tim Thomas sucks?? Haha I bet people would make attempts to try to bomb him haha! Yes, Thomas is a good goalie, but his aggressive style of play can kill him as he is vulnerable in leaving wide open nets for open opposition players to score on. The reason this is didn't happen as much is because Boston had players clearing out the pucks for Thomas, once Thomas makes the first save so the opposition can't get on it. if you look at Burrow's overtime goal, Lapierre's game 5 goal and the goal he gave up to Kris Versteeg, dating back to Dec 4th, 2010, Thomas's aggressive style led to a wide open goal by these players. So I don't know why you queers in Boston was flipping out for, about Luongo making a true statement. I hope all of you have high blood pressure sometime later in your life!

On another note, here to the superstition part, history have shown that whenever a Canadian city hoisted the winter olympics, the city's NHL team will go on to win the cup next year, Vancouver was on the right track, but they didn't win the cup!! What is this?!?!?! I don't know what went wrong there, because they were suppose to win the cup, like what Don Cherry and E.A simulator predicted. This is not fair!! Why does the assholes in Boston get to celebrate the cup, while the good and faithful people in Vancouver did not? God, where is the justice?? Please stop picking on Vancouverites and Canucks fans, our fans have waited for 40 years and we still haven't get a chance to see our beloved team win a Stanley Cup!! Please pick one someone else and leave us alone!

Though after game 7, everybody was talking about the Vancouver riot. If you think riot was caused by Canucks fans in anger over the cup loss, you are a fucking idiot and deserved to be shot. For the last time, the riot weren't caused by real Canucks fans and Vancouverite. They were caused by a few trouble makers, known as hooligans and anarchist who seeks the opportunity to destroy private properties. The Stanley cup was just an excuse for these people to cause troubles. Real Vancouverites and Canucks fans went home as soon as the game ended! While some of you dumb fucks would ask, "Why are they wearing Canucks jerseys then?" To answer your horseshit question, just because they wear Canucks jerseys doesn't mean their actually fans, if you had the brain, you'd figured out that just because you wear a team's jersey does not mean you're actually a fan, you idiots. I can randomly put on a jersey of a sports team, but does that really make me a fan of that team? No, not at all! To the people who circled around taking pictures and recording, thank you, but your not helping the situation. You're making the situation harder for the police to deal with!! Though, thanks for putting up pictures on facebook so the Vancouver Police Department can persecute these offenders and serve justice! Real Vancouverite went out the next day to help cleanup, so that shows we people in Vancouver aren't like those rioters. Those people are the true people here in British Columbia. Anyone that tells Vancouver fans to "Riot some more" I hope you all die early and your whole family too! I feel somewhat for saying these things, but sorry you people deserved it!!

On a special note, I've finally got transferred to Playland Rides. Today was the last day of work. It sure was hot haha! Looking forward to next season!!

Starting tomorrow, I will have one thing in mind, that will be revenge! In school, hockey pools and Canucks!! We will be back in 2012!!!! 2012 baby!!!
