After today, I don't have school for 4 days!! Suppose I have class from Monday to Thursday, but Thursday is when the seminar group meet up as we would be outside analyzing things such as trees and building structures. The group goes and everyone else has a day off!! Now I can sleep in!!
This morning I woke up at 8:00am on a very cloudy Wednesday morning. I must say, fall season has begun, now that the sun is covered with thick loads of clouds! I'm totally fine with that! I start off the day by getting a taste of rice for breakfast before heading to school!
Once again, I don't have a computer lab to hang out at today, so I had to wait outside my classroom until the clock struck 10:30am before I can head in.
In class today, we looked at the statue, known as "Stele of Hammurabi" in which the god appears to give him a rod, in order to be put as a judge of his people. Our instructor also talked about some of the laws that were imposed. I quite honestly believe those laws are like payback type of thing, eye for an eye, ear for an ear, in another words, people suffer consequences to the exact of their own actions! We also looked at the Ishtar Gate that the Assyrians build, looks pretty epic!
I went home after to watch my drama and slept for a bit before packing for my history stuff and left the house at 5:00pm. Since I was early, I went to hang out in the computer lab until 6:15pm before heading back to my History 1115 class.
We lectured on some people and their ideas such as Friedrich Nietzsche, famous for saying, "God is dead" also talked about the Boar wars and the industrial power in Europe. No question that Britain will always be number one in Naval power, nobody can match that, but Britain's economic performance was overshadowed by the Germans and the Americans. We also talked about the human nature of being together against everyone else from the outside. Like wars for example, people in a country will unite and fight others outside. Our instructor also brought up the Vancouver Canucks! He love the Canucks, because he lives in Vancouver and the Canucks happen to be the hockey team of this beautiful city! For me, I'd probably have a much different approach to why I'm a Canucks fan. I'd say, I was born a Canucks fan, even though I didn't become a fan until 2004. But you know, I was destined to root for this awesome, only time would tell!! This relates back to why people would celebrate together on the street in the dawn of WW1.
