A Night Spend At A Pub Watching The Greatest Game On Earth

The week where majority of the exams are completed. Though, there are still exams and class going on. This morning, I woke up at like, around 10:30am since I slept almost at 2 during midnight. I had breakfast and then went to do the laundry.

Nothing really much happened, besides me relaxing. I was talking to a friend on how we're going to meet up to go to the pub with few other friends to have dinner and watch the Canucks game. We decided to meet at Langara 49th. I spend until 2:40pm getting ready before heading out.

I got a ride from my dad to the bus stop which is pretty close. I waited for around 10 minutes for the 410 bus to arrive. I got to the skytrain station and board on the skytrain to langara 49th. Apparently, he was there before the train arrived, so he decided to get on as well, and we got off at Broadway City Hall. It was raining outside and we spend a while trying to remember the address of the pub. We took the 99 b-line to MacDonald street and then we walked to the pub. It took us about 15 minutes to arrive.

Two of our friends were there already. We then ordered some sort of fries dish with cheese, some onion shrimp? And pizza! Before the game started.

The Canucks play the leafs today, and it was alright. In the first period, not much really happened but Alexander Burrows scored on a favorable bounce for a 1-0 lead. The Vancouver Canucks were also able to kill off a 5 on 3 powerplay, which is a momentum shift. The greemen was putting on a show today. First list was a sign with the title, "Draft Pick For Sale" when Versteeg was in the box and "Santa's Naughty List" when Komisarek was in the box. Good stuff! Speaking of Versteeg's penalty, it was funny watching the referee giving him a gesture of the slashing penalty.

In the second period, not much happened again, but Vancouver scored their second goal off a 3 on 2 rush, with Kesler dishing the puck to Jannick Hansen for an easy tap in and Vancouver leads 2-0.

In the first period, Vancouver missed a powerplay opportunity to put the leafs away and the Leafs scored with just 13 minutes left. It was just a bad goal by Luongo, because he could of easily caught that puck, but oh well. With just under 5 minutes to go, Ehrhoff scored on what it looked like a tip from Kesler and it was 3-1 Vancouver. I along with my friends and other fans in the pub cheered as the puck went in. Vancouver would seal it on an empty net goal by Henrik Sedin to win 4-1.

During the game I ordered beer, and finished it when the game ended. We also ordered the "Tuna Bite" along with the BBQ Chicken Pizza. After we ate, we left and walked to a bus stop to catch the 9 bus to Cambie. We then walked to the skytrain station to take the Canada-Line. My friends got off at Langara 49th and I got off at Aberdeen. I then took the bus home and didn't eat anything after.

It was a nice experience inside a pub watching the Canucks win a hockey game! Hopefully more to come in the future! Good luck to my hockey pool tomorrow! Let's go!
