To be honest, I really hate things that delays especially when I'm ready to face it. It just takes away the energy of your desire to accept whatever destiny lies. At least I know that I'll be getting my midterm back next Wednesday 100%, unless he forgets to bring it.
Anyways, for Geo today, we continued on with British Columbia, talked about forestry, agriculture, and hazards. Also watched a video on the avalanche, which was part of the additional reading that we had to do for homework yesterday. We also talked about what to do with caught in an Avalanche. I remember we talked about this before with Ascher in Geography 12 during my final year in high school.
I also didn't know there are levels of Avalanche, each possessing the rate of threat to anyone caught. But I guess all threats have it's levels right? Such as earthquakes and fires.
Uhh, the rest of the day was just normal, nothing really happened. Couldn't eat much during dinner, because I didn't have the appetite to eat, after having 8 slices of bread after school today =P

College Day 143: Life Continues
On a pretty cool Tuesday morning, I woke up on the right time because of school at 10:30am. So cool that I had to shut off my window to save myself some warm inside the house.
Well, my stomach wasn't feeling well at all but not bad enough that I had to go to the bathroom. Weird, I forgot to drink water for two meals but whatever.
In Latin American Studies today, our instructor was away so her husband came in, whose name was Mark Lee. Lecture was really just a random talk today about trades and electricity. Oh I forgot to mention, he brought his daughter to class too, really adorable little girl!
Well, after I went home and did some homework. Now it's time to sleep and prepare for the worst tomorrow! I'm all ready!! Hit me the best you can!

College Day 142: The Journey To The End
Things usually starts to get very intense when something is reaching to its ending. I have two more weeks of school left before the end of the summer semester. This summer semester was a major struggle for me, kind of like the Vancouver Canucks' struggle in the Stanley Cup Final, but maybe a bit better.
Also, it was pretty windy today which was a great sign because yesterday wind was something that the day lacked but its all good today. In Geography 1120 today, we didn't get our midterms or essays back which I know I failed already. Like seriously. So we began a new topic, on British Columbia. Much of the lecture today was what I learned back in Grade 10. The Gold Rush, and some well known Canadians, such as Simon Fraser, David Thompson, Sir James Douglas and Alexander Mackenzie.
We also did part of an atlas assignment which was pretty fun, despite that I didn't get any of it, until we went over it as a class and we also get to leave class early!!

College Day 141: Moving On
After the depressing midterm yesterday, my school day continued on today like everybody else, except that I have no more midterm exams for the rest of the summer semester. Sure it's a good thing, though not my marks however. My Latin America Studies' midterm would represent the first two Canucks home games of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, while perhaps the midterms for my Geography would be nightmares in Boston.
But anyways, today's class was basically a lecture on the cause of poverty in Latin America. If I remembered correctly, I wrote an essay on this topic so I was pretty familiar with it. However, I never feel like talking in class anyways, unless it's a discussion then I let it all out! I now learned that reading is extremely mandatory, as exam questions will be about the readings too!!
Now I cannot get lazy and have to do my readings from now, remember that!! But first things first, I'll be finishing the drama, Wax and Wane. It's getting really exciting!!! Last episode tomorrow!! ZOMG!!!

College Death Road Day 138, 139, 140
Things just keeps going forward and will not turn back. Just like time, time will only keep going forward and will never be turned back! It's kind of hard to believe that my summer semester is going to end in a matter of 2 weeks from now. No blog post from me this past two days, because I had to prepare for a midterm that I wasn't going to pass anyways. In fact, geography has never been my strong subject in the arts portion. I guess anything related to Science just kills me.
Me understanding science would just as bad as trying to put out a forest fire by dumping more woods. It just will never work. But that's okay. It's not the end of the world, if I failed this class. I don't care, pass or fail, I won't give up until the very end. Even if I fight a battle that I cannot win, at least I can reward myself a gratitude for trying to the very end.
It will hurt a lot if I fail, which I think is very likely at this point, but is it the end of the world? I doubt it. Sorry, there are still way too many things in life to be positive about. Maybe it's because of the game 7 loss, that I have changed quite a bit. But of course, no matter how much I changed, I will always have a desire for Vancouver to look for revenge next year, same with my other hockey pool. Lost to two opponents I totally despise. ( I don't despise the guy I lost to, but his team, as I consider him a rival, due to our hockey approaches and ideas ) But back to topic, the midterm today was pretty hard. The notes I made for myself, nothing really covered any questions there today. I had to write everything to the best of my ability, even though I pretty much know nothing about it.
Well, I have to look on the bright side, but I'll hope for the best! Make sure to keeps low hope, which I should be doing and had been doing pretty well, this year!

College Studying + Midterm Exam Day 135, 136, 137
The past two days has been an extremely busy and exhausting studying days, for my Latin America midterm. We were given a list of questions for the short and long answer portion and a number of those questions will be on the exam and I had to choose to prepare how many questions and so on.
The power point notes didn't present as much info, therefore I had to find more through wiki. Eventually I found enough sufficient points to my case of study, to prepare for the midterm exam that occurred today.
I slept late last night and had to wake up early this morning to get studying at school, through the rainy and gloomy day. I was in the computer lab for most part and spend the last 45 minutes inside the classroom studying. The midterm today itself, didn't seem that bad. I was pretty much able to write from start to finish. Prediction: 43.5/60.
After the exam, I took the Canada-Line to Richmond Centre to look for stuff. Too bad I couldn't find any and had to go home empty handed. But that was expected. Not long after, I went out to a nearby cafe with my mom and sister for lunch and then came back home for a few hours before going out to my mom's friend's place for dinner.

College Work Day 134
After two days of stressful researching over my in-class geography essay, today is the day to convert those two days of hard work into an essay for marks! Of course I had everything done by last night before I slept, so this morning I was able to relax myself for a little bit. Such as watching my drama before I go to school!
I did fix some stuff for my essay outline before I head to school today. During my trip, I tried to keep a positive attitude towards the in-class essay. If I tell you I didn't feel a little stressed out, I'd be lying but of course, everyone stresses out.
During the in-class essay session, I had a slow start but caught up the pace and finished on time. I generated a five page essay with five paragraph, discussing the Pros, Cons and the future role of Nuclear Power in Ontario. When I got home, I decided to relax myself for the day before I start studying for my Latin American midterm exam tomorrow.

College Cold Day 133
Remember yesterday's post, I complained about the heat and really wanted wind to blow in my room? Well, I got my wish today, in fact I got way more than I really could ask for. It turns out instead of having wind blowing in a nice sunny day, the whole day became so freaking cloudy and eventually rained for a while.
My stomach was sick all day, it wasn't even funny. Perhaps it was a punishment for crunching three popsicle and a cold beer. But again, it showed a sign of desperation to face against the brutality of the heat from the sun yesterday. The pain today was worth it.
Latin American lecture today was uh, I can't even describe it. I fell asleep half the class, when we watched the remainder of the documentary. Oh well, nothing serious about that. We also had a lecture with the transition to democracy. Also had a group discussion about it. We didn't get a chance to go over the study guide for the midterm, so our instructor photocopied a whole bunch and gave us each before we go. Now, time to prepare for in-class essay for Monday!

College Heating Day 132
So the heavenly wind lasted just for one day? This is hell, under the dreadful sun during this period of time. Everything was fine, until I came home today. It was freaking burning outside. I can't help myself, but ate a life high of three popsicle ( Don't know why the hell it's wrong spelling ), and one cold beer after dinner! This is how desperate I was today, trying everything I can to cool myself off from the heat! Seriously, where the hell the wind have been!! No wind is not good!
Of course there was air conditioning inside my lecture hall today which was great. In class today, we finished off talking about Western Canada, including with the Oil + Gas industry and in Alberta and saved some talk of urbanization in Western Canada. Later for the class, we had a discussion about Calgary and why it's "Sprawled", including the advantages and disadvantages for the people living people there =P

College Windy Day 131
Remember I complained about the heat yesterday and that the wind didn't show up whenever I needed it the most? Well today I think I got way too much of what I wanted. Don't know why I felt cold, but that is okay. I guess it only bothers me when I get sleepy during class time, other than that I guess it's alright since it wasn't even that hot anyways.
Latin American lecture wasn't really a lecture today. There were more storytelling from our instructor than actually giving us a lecture! What's surprising is that, the pictures of people during the storytelling hour were people that she actually talked with. Second hour was a film which took the remaining of the class. On our way out, we got our research essay back. I did alright, got 17.7/26. Not particularly too upset about it, nor am I proud of it. It was just as I expected.
Rest of the day was normal like everything else. Homework homework and more homework!!

College Burning Day 130
It sure seems like summer time today. It was really hot outside and it sure wasn't good, in the heat, particularly in my room where I'm facing the sun. And you know what? The wind always make everything better!! I wish I have an air conditioner at home to cool myself off :(
Traveling to school in t-shirt and short pants was great. Didn't sweat for one second, due to the heavenly wind that blew as I walked from my house to the bus stop and from the bus stop to the skytrain station and from the station to campus. But of course, allergies hit me once again. It has gotten better, but still improving!
Geography 1120, we talked about Western Canada, their geography history, migration and the agriculture status. We even watched a long video on the CBC site about pollution and the erosion of soil in Alberta which took the rest of the class. The rest of the day after school, was just bad. I got nothing to say. More heavenly wind please!

The True North Strong And Free 2011!!
When you read my title, if you knew anything about Canada, you will already have picked up what my title is all about. Yes, that's part of the lyrics of the Canadian National Anthem song. Why I put this there? It's because it's Canada Day today! I've been living in Canada for 16 years now. Much longer than I've lived in my hometown, Hong Kong.
Therefore, I have a place for this beautiful country in my heart! But of course, whenever it's Canada Day I go downtown with friends to celebrate the birthday of the best country in the world.
So, in a mixed of windy and sunny day, I wore my jersey and traveled to a friend's house and stayed for a while before going to Broadway to meet up with another friend, to take the expo-line to waterfront. We got off and went to Canada Place to look at things. One of them included a museum with all the Canadian Hall Of Fame. Pretty much all the people there, deserved to be there, except Justin Bieber. I didn't know he was considered to be a Canadian Star, when that guy have not even retired yet, and his singing sucks balls!
Anyways, we continued on for a little more while, before hanging outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery of downtown Vancouver. Later, we left to meet up with our other friends outside at the Skytrain station at Waterfront.
We then traveled from streets to streets and by 6:30pm, we were waiting for the parade to start. Too bad, no Alain Vigneault this time, as my friend reminded us of what happened last year. After the parade, we got something to eat at steamroller, hell the chicken deluxe meal was fucking expensive. Later, we went to McDonalds, as a few friends wanted to get a drink first before we walked around at coal harbor. Later, in order to kill one hour and a half of time, we began talking about NHL jerseys and what they symbolize, which eventually took us all the way until 10:30pm where the fireworks started. It was great afterall!!
Later, I walked for a while, to Yaletown Roundhouse station and took the Canada-Line to Richmond, before my mom picking me up!! Fun day today!! Looking forward to the next firework event, in about three weeks!
