Vancouver Canucks 2013-2014 Season (January Review)

Another month to the season that came to an end for the Vancouver Canucks and I must say, this month finally ended. What an awful month of January and a start to 2014 for the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver in January, like in November did not do very well, finishing the month with a 4-9-2 record.

This team still have the 3rd period meltdown problem, which has to change but I have been saying it since November. This team lacks depth and character. Which did not seem to be very promising. With Mike Santorelli out, Kevin Bieksa out, Chris Tanev out and Captain Henrik Sedin out, the Canucks' situation seem to be getting worse!

Also, John Tortorella had been suspended for 2 weeks for going to the Calgary Flames's locker room and cause problems, leaving Mike Sullivan to coach which he didn't do very well of. But Tortorella will be back next game which is somewhat of a good news.

If this team wants to make the playoffs, they better start winning games on a daily basis, the west is so tight with Phoenix catching up to them!! But no matter what, GO CANUCKS GO!!!

Vancouver Canucks 2013-2014 Regular Season Review ( December )

What a month December had been for the Canucks. After our awful November, this team turned it around in the month of December, finishing with a 10-1-2 record. This team started out with an 8 game winning streak before losing 2 and then win 4 in a row before giving away the last game to Philadelphia. Many positives came from the month of December, we made grounds on Minnesota in the Wild Card Standings and now catching up to the Los Angeles Kings but with Phoenix behind us.

It is a new month and a new year for the Canucks, they have to keep doing what they did in December and chip away, the more games we win, the sooner we will guarantee our playoff spot but also Vancouver still can do better in closing out games and there are still lots of time left to correct that habit! But as always, GO CANUCKS GO!

Vancouver Canucks 2013-2014 Season November Month Review

Another month done, and boy can I say I am so glad it finally end. What a bad month this was for the Vancouver Canucks. We had 13 games this month and we end up with a 4-5-4 record, which was very unacceptable!

Things started out great with the Pavel Bure night as the Canucks beat the Leafs 4-0. But on that California road trip that was where all the disaster began. The Canucks had a good start, losing in a shootout to Phoenix and finally beat the San Jose Sharks. But after that, things just went bad, losing 5 in a row before winning  1 and then lose 2 again.

The worst part is that Vancouver actually outplayed the opposition in those games but can't score. Scoring has been awful this month, way too many games where they only scored 1 goal and all resulted in a loss. Their record right now is 13-10-5. Not the best start but there are still time left, however they have to start scoring more and play better in front of Luongo. Bad coverage usually kills this team and Torts have to let the boys know.

Nothing comes easy and the Canucks have to play their game and not worry about anything else!

Vancouver Canucks Regular Season (October) Review

The Vancouver Canucks began their season in the month of October in 2013, as they brought in some new faces such as new head coach John Tortorella and new players, Mike Santorelli, Brad Richardson, and Yannick Weber. The Canucks finished the month of October with a shocking record of 9-5-1. I was totally surprised but happy how this month has gone. Typically, October has always been an average month for this team, but things change this year.

Although many injuries occurred, Alex Burrows was injured for a period of time before he came back, forward Jannick Hansen, Dale Weise and David Booth are all out due to injuries. It is still early however, but hopefully everyone comes back soon!

The Canucks have improved on the penalty kill by a mile this season so far under the new coaching system of John Tortorella. However, the powerplay has been extremely poor. I just believe the Canucks need to shoot the puck more on the PP and need a better way to entry. Quite honestly I am not a fan of the drop pass especially when they gain the zone. It is very frustrating to see the puck gets taken away right when the drop pass occurs in the offensive zone. But nonetheless it has been a good month, one thing I would like to see is the Canucks being able to beat good teams. Majority of the wins this month has been against teams with losing record.

TVB Drama Review: A Change of Heart ( 好心作怪)

Wow, I cannot believe this is my first time blogging again in almost half a year long! Anyways, I'm already behind in this review so here I want to get this finished.

So I just recently finished watching A Change of Heart which features, Bosco Wong, Nikki Chow, Michael Mui, Joey Meng, Benz Hui, Mandy Wong, Vincent Wong, Elaine Yiu, Benjamin Yiu and JJ Jia.

The show involves around Nikki and Bosco Wong who are both couples, while Nikki is a cop because of her desire to capture the murderer of her mother and Bosco Wong, who is Michael's Mui's cardiologist.

Bosco is good friend with Vincent Wong as they both live together, until one day Bosco dies because of an apparent accident as he tries to save an elder woman who happened to be a patient from a piece of brick falling from the sky. This event was held for a while until one day the same patient freaked out after looking at the ceiling and Vincent believed that Bosco's death was not an accident but rather murder and soon to found out that the real truth behind the case was Joey Meng.

Michael and Joey Meng are husband and wife related, both are business people and the CEO of Lik Chi Ko enterprises. Michael was very ruthless and will do anything to succeed and soon his wife began to be like him later which caused many problems between their relationship. As one day Michael was very soon to pass away but after Bosco dies, his heart was donated to Michael, thus saving him. This have changed Michael completely as he become less aggressive and actually cared about other people. However because his wife learned a lot from his past, this became a problem as she thought he was not himself anymore. Also because she believes he has something going on with Nikki.

After Bosco dies, his twin brother that Bosco plays in addition, appears. Bosco would work his way up through the Lik Chi Ko Enterprise. Throughout the show There was always problems between him and Nikki mainly because Mandy Wong, Nikki's best friend since they were very young always getting in thE way because she has a crush on Bosco, but eventually they are together by the end of the show.

Benjamin Yiu and JJ Jia are also husband and wife related, Benjamin works as an assistant for Joey Meng and they both one time were dragged into doing illegal business. They both had their affair and when JJ finds out while she was pregnant, she let Benjamin know and nearly suicide. As Benjamin promised her to go to Shanghai to re-live their life, he demand Joey to give him 50 million and when she only gives him 5 million, he became furious and threatened to kill her but Nikki saved Joey and killed him by accident when she shot him in the neck accidentally.

TVB Dramas Review: A Great Way To Care II (仁心解碼 II )

Well it sure has been a while since I have completed another series of drama. I took a huge break because I could not find any good dramas to watch until this show.

Anyways, this is the second series of A Great Way To Care, while I didn't watch the first series as I am known for that. I personally like this show due to because it deals with life, Christ and criminal cases. This shows involves, Tavia Yeung, Alex Fong, Ben Wong, Yoyo Mung, Aimee Chan and Edwin Siu. Tavia is a cop with Ben Wong and they are also couple. As their relationship develops, Tavia's past slowly to reappear on her mind based on how she was an orphan after her father had committed murder against people who deserved to be killed. Therefore this brainwashed her and leads her to do the same thing which eventually causes her downfall and she committed suicide. Everybody tried to help her but could not.

Alex Fong and Yoyo Mung are co-workers in the Department of Psychiatry and they eventually become couples because of YoYos desire to have a baby. While she denied Alex's attempt first to take care of her and the baby, they eventually end up together.

Aimee Chan and Edwin Siu were former classmates studying abroad and are friends. Their first attempt to date fell short when Edwin was cheating on her with another coworker Christine Kuo. Eventually they end up together again based on destiny, if Edwin is able to locate Aimee's missing brother which he successfully accomplished.

Overall, this show really isn't bad at all. Teaches you a lot about life and influences. I feel like I can relate myself in some of the situations, based on my hatred personality against certain things.

TVB Drama Review: Friendly Fire ( 法網狙擊 )

Well I can't believe it took me this long to finally start blogging about this show! Personally I love it which is why I don't know why its taking me forever to blog this but there it is.

This show features, Michael Tse, Tavia Yeung who are lawyers and Sammy Leung and Sharon Chan who are cops.

Michael and Tavia are couples and have been dating for quite a period of time and often would work together to win cases. Though later they broke up when Tavia rejected a major surprising proposal from Michael because of her family past which she does not want to see happening again. They would often argue later with disagreements based on perspective differences. While her friend, Louis Yeun who is a doctor tries to cheer her up and get them to re-unite. Until Michael and Tavia both have encountered a common enemy which brought them to be united again.

Sammy and Sharon are both cops and they first met when both happened to be targeting the same suspect. She would publicly humiliate him by forcing him to sexually assault her. Later Sharon would transfer to the group of where Sammy leads and they would often work together and soon their relationship develops. Later in the end they end up together at the airport.

The major antagonist in the show was the siblings of Alice Chan and Ronan Pak. It all began when Ronan Pak raped one of Tavia's students, Samantha Ko. Tavia and Michael vowed to win the case to give him permanent sentence. Though Alice Chan vowed to have her brother save at the cost of anything, therefore she went to Derek Kwok, who is also a lawyer and an arch rival of Michael Tse. Though Derek Kwok was able to win the case for the siblings and Alice and him began to build up a relationship which would all come to an end when Michael and Sammy's brother was hit the car that Alice drove, because he was filming her with another person that later would be killed by Derek himself. They were discussing some illegal business which was what freaked Alice over. To save herself, Alice told the police that Derek had killed the other person she was talking business with, in order to save herself but because of the father's death, Michael and Sammy had to do something about it. They kept bugging and harassing her, and even Samantha helped by crashing their business presentation to say bad things about them so everyone will know what they really are. Eventually Michael Tse was able to get her to speak the truth and record it when they were inside the room arguing and also the evidence in her car with the sands where the murdering took place. Which eventually got her into a long term sentence to jail, leaving her brother alone.

At last everyone gets back to their normal life.
